Warm up with a good book!

Happy 2012! Looking for a good book to read before you get too busy with classes? This winter we’re featuring some award-winning books for you to snuggle up with in the cold weather.

The Lambda Literary Awards (also known as “The Lammies”) award is based on literary merit and on content relevant to LGBT lives. Outstanding literature has been awarded by the Lambda Literary Association annually since 1989.

The Stonewall Book Awards, sponsored by the American Library Association’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Round Table, honor exceptional material relating to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender experience. The Stonewall Book Awards have been awarded annually at the ALA Annual Conference in June or July since 1971.

Here’s a list of award-winning titles from the past five years that are in our collection, with the call numbers included in case they’re not on display. Learn more about each book at WorldCat by clicking the title, and then stop by and check them out!

One Response to Warm up with a good book!

  1. Kylie says:

“Transparent” is a book that really turned around my vision and I really learned to be more tolerant and emphatic via this amazing read. In case you have not read it, you need to do it. This is an exceptional story that will break your inner world.
